Body Mass Index or BMI is a tool for indicating weight status in adults. It is a measure of weight for height.
The ideal weight differs for eveyone, because people differ in length, the ideal BMI however is more or less the same for everyone. Generally speaking (according to the World Health Organisation), the best BMI is between 20 and 25. BMI means Body Mass Index and can be calculated by deviding your weight in kilo's by your length in meters multiplied by itself. A BMI larger than 25 is overweight and a BMI is obese. A BMI under 20 (and definately under 18.5 is underweight, which can also be damaging to your health.
