Losing weight
Losing weight with Herbalife is the opposite of most diets, which let you starve and go hungry. If you starve and eat too few calories and essential nutrion, your body will break down its muscle tissue and not only fat. The result on the scale is you weigh less, but as soon as you stop dieting and start eating as you used to, you'll gain weight again.
Here's why: Most of your calories are burnt by your muscles and not only during exercise, but all through the day. When you've lost muscles because of your diet, you'll burn less calories, resulting in weight-gain after you've reached your target weight.
The result after many attemps of dieting is a high percentage of fat and a low percentage of muscle tissue, resulting in an extremely low requirement of calories. That's why many people gain weight 'by only looking at food'. The result of most diets is also an increased feeling of tiredness and lack of energy.
Losing weight with Herbalife is the opposite: you'll get all your essential vitamins minerals etc. Therefore your body will build up muscle tissue and break down fat. This may sometimes result in a weight gain during your diet, but this is the result of increased muscle tissue, which leads to more calories being burnt. Therefore you must not only use the scale when eating Herbalife for weight loss, but also measure your size: you'll lose inches.
At the end of your programme, your result is your desired weight, but without the fat and with muscle tissue. The result is that you won't gain weight again after ending your programme. How to eat the weight loss products
Replace 2 meals with a shake (usually breakfast and lunch).
Eat 1 meal every day of your own choice, but please eat in moderate quantities.
You can eat anything you like. Eating fewer carbohydrates and fat quickens the weight-loss.
Depending on the programme of your choice you have a variety of tablets to take. Please read the label for the most recent recommended intake.
Drinking
Drink at least four 8 ounce glasses of water per day (about 2 liters).
Water is very important: you will find that your afternoon fatigue is often due to dehydration and will improve by paying attention to your water intake. If you are exercising or the weather is hot, drinking water is even more important, as you lose it through sweating.

You may drink tea or coffee, but they don't count toward your water intake because they cause your kidneys to excrete more water than they contain. We advice to drink a glass of water extra for every cup of tea or coffee you drink.
Don't drink too much fruit juice. They contain vitamins, but also calories.
Snacks
The fewer the better, but eat no more than 3 snacks a day. Some examples of alllowed/recommended snacks are:
- Fruit
- Yoghurt (without added sugar)
- Salad (without the dressing)
- Rice cracker
- Cracker
- Herbalife Thermojetics protein bar (max 1 per dag)
Shakes
Use 2 tablespoonfuls of Formula 1 powder per shake. This way, one canister is enough for one month if you eat one shake every day.
Use 8 ounces of nonfat dairy milk or soy milk for your shake and if you're not used to drinking milk, you can also use juices like orange juice. Add two tablespoons of formula one to the liquid, shake it and your meal is ready. Optionally you can add two extra tablespoons of protein powder, which is recommended if you're still feeling hungry in between meals.
If you use a blender to make your shake, you can also add 1 cup of fresh fruit to your shake, like blueberries, banana or strawberries. If it's not available you can also use frozen fruit and to make your shake taste more refreshing you can add some ice cubes.
You can also add your formula one powder to yoghurt, or try two flavours, e.g. 1 spoonful of chocolate and 1 spoonful of cappuccino make a delicious mix.
Cleaning the inside of your body
Although not very common, it is possible that your body needs time to adapt to your new healthy diet. Some people may get diarrea or headaches during the first one or two weeks of their diet. If this happens, it's a good signal from your body that the products are working and if you keep eating the products and keep drinking enough water, your body will clean itself very quickly and your body will go back to normal or even better.
Measuring and weighing:
You start:
1. The day you start your Herbalife weight-control programme, you measure and weigh yourself in the morning. This is very important, because this is your reference.
2. you also measure the size of your breast, waist, hip, leg, neck and arm. Always measure at the same spots.
Always use the same scale that is placed on an even surface. Measure and weigh yourself wearing no clothes..
It's very important not to focus on the pounds only. Because of the good nutrition you give yourself, you'll start building muscles. Muscletissue is heavier than fat, making measuring equally important as weighing. Your size matters.
